"Change the world?"
"Okay, I can do it, I know I can," thought Linda. "One woman at a time!"
That's Linda Alepin's battle cry – a cry that is heard beyond her local community – a cry that is heard around the world!
"You no longer can hold anything locally...we really are part of a global organism and women need to think globally. We started to see that in order for the world to overcome some of its biggest problems -- peace, poverty, hunger -- it's going to take women leaders!"
That quote sums up the heart of this woman.
As an answer to the global problems facing the world, when Santa Clara University's Center for Innovation in Entrepreneurship birthed the Global Women's Leadership Center, they put Linda Alepin at its helm.
Conferences, seminars, and programs are offered at the Center for women from around the world to discover solid advice, entrepreneurial guidance and real time support. As technology advances, Linda's goal for the Center is to reach the remote villages and hills of the world. It is about giving women the means to embrace all their dreams and make a difference in their world, as well as the entire world, by using digital technology to connect.
Linda is no stranger to the business world. She founded and was CEO of Pebblesoft Learning, Inc. She spent over 15 years at Amdahl Corporation where she held the office of Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Officer. And she held several managerial positions at IBM Corporation. Her brain may be all business, but her heart focuses on women and their world. On our world!
The Global Women's Leadership Center is thriving under Linda's leadership. Their goal: "to build is a global network of women who dare to shape the futures of their organizations, communities and even the world. It's about bold women who really want to do something and forming a network of those people."
Why does Linda care? What drives her to make the world better? Simple: a passion for living. Her colleagues say that Linda does not own smallness and small dreams. Even as a highly successful business executive in Silicon Valley California, her vision sees beyond business.
"She has focused a lot of her energies on helping women but the business world isn't big enough -- it's the whole world. She has an 'abundance mentality.' Linda is someone who believes that the more you give, the more you create, that there's an abundance for everybody."
